Who writes here
I do, all of it, under my own name. Nothing on this site is bought from a content mill, and there is no byline here belonging to a person who does not exist. If that ever changes it will be said on this page first.
Lived with, not unboxed
I do not write about something I have owned for a week. The interesting part of a small upgrade shows up in month four, when the pleasant novelty has worn off and either the thing is still earning its place or it has quietly gone back in a drawer. Where a piece rests on a short trial it says so. Where it rests on something I have done for years, it says that instead, because those are different kinds of evidence and should not read the same.
Kinds of thing, not brands
The pieces here name materials, weights, and the properties that make a difference. They mostly do not name brands. A brand gets reformulated or discontinued, while a heavier towel and a dish brush that stands upright to dry are still doing the same job in ten years. Where the specific object matters, I explain what about it matters, so you can recognise it somewhere else.
What is deliberately absent
No star ratings and no scores, because a number implies a precision that one person’s house cannot support. No invented product cards. No prices quoted as fact, since they move and a stale price is a small lie. No before and after staging. No suggestion that buying the thing is what changes the day, when in most of these pieces the object is just what finally gave permission.
The upgrades that were not worth it
Those get written up too, at the same length and in the same sections. A site about small treats that never once concludes leave it where it is would not be worth reading, and a section called Saying No to More exists specifically because the honest answer is often that you already own enough of this.
Money and independence
Some links earn a commission, set out in full in the affiliate disclosure. No company reads a piece before it goes up, no company pays for coverage or for a conclusion, and a commission has never decided whether something gets mentioned. Where the two would conflict, the piece keeps the sentence and loses the commission.
Updates and corrections
Every page shows when it was last updated. I revise these when a reader corrects me, or when a thing I recommended has not aged the way I said it would, and a revision of substance carries a note about what changed rather than being made silently. A reader who acted on the old version deserves to know it moved.

This is a personal site about ordinary domestic pleasures. Nothing here is medical, dermatological, nutritional, or financial advice. A hot bath and a good lotion are not treatment for anything.
